New Molding Technologies

Two brand new options have been added to VISI Flow V16 : Gas Assisted Molding and Co-Injection.

The Gas option calculates the volume of plastic to be used, the melt front distribution, the delay time between melt and gas injection, the spatial distribution of both the gas and plastic at any instant during filling. Importantly, it also integrates this data with all the typical data of the molding process provided by VISI Flow: temperature, shear stress, shear rate, etc...

Co-Injection simulates this process that creates a skin and core material arrangement in a molded component. The skin material is initially injected into the mold cavity and is immediately followed by the injection of the core material. As the skin material flows into the cavity, the material next to the cavity wall freezes and material then flows down a center channel. All variables are also displayed for this technology.

Constraint Mapping for VISI Blank

The latest version of VISI Blank sees the introduction of 'constraints'. When calculating a forming component, it is often necessary to define 'non-deformable areas' (often holes on planar faces). VISI 16 provides the ability to define these edges as 'non-deformable', and all conditions are considered when calculating the material deformation.
